Tell me a little bit about your company's origin story:
Warrior & Wildflower Apothecary originally started out as H.A.R.T. Holistic Autism Remedial Therapy in 2018. I had started studying plant medicine in 2016 specifically looking for holistic remedies to assist in the more difficult aspects of the autism spectrum. I had been working with children on the Autism Spectrum and their families as a Behavioral Therapist for over 20 years and found common core issues such as insomnia, anxiety, aggression, difficulty focusing and transitioning from activities, bedwetting, digestive issues, and pain. By 2017, I had my 8 core blends: Meltdown, Pain & Inflammation, Bed & Nap Time, Focus, Transitions, Tummy Trouble, Morning Sunshine and Bedwetting Support. By 2018 I had done months of clinical trials in 3 age groups: 2-5, 6-12 and adults. (Children weighing over 125 lbs were given the Adult blend.) (20 in each group. Half given a proprietary blend the other half given a placebo of fractionated carrier oil and lavender). I also had 1 patent pending on my Pain & Inflammation Lotion.
I continued working as a Behavioral Therapist and completed my supervision for Board Certified Behavioral Analyst while having my products in an online store. In 2020 I was in my first store. Fast forward a few years and the acceptance of plant medicine and holistic health had grown immensely. I was getting too much traffic on the website for both product orders and for therapy appointments so I decided to transfer my holistic products to its own entity.
H.A.R.T. is now exclusively for Autism Assessments, Treatment Plans, Family Skills Therapy and 1-1 EIDBI. (Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention) and
Warrior & Wildflower Apothecary will have all my holistic health products. Throughout the years, as herbal healing and plant medicine have expanded so has the store with many added all natural, organic products such as Aromatherapy candles, a Rose Face Care line, Big Daddy Beard Care, and Herbal teas. The decision to split just made things a lot more organized and user friendly.
What do you love about being a small business owner?
I love that I am able to help a diverse population of people! From children on the spectrum to cancer patients to veterans to the average health conscious person all over the world!
What is the most difficult part of what you do?
The most difficult thing in the beginning was exposure. Not as many people were as open to herbal and plant medicine as they are now.
What is your favorite product from your company?
Favorite product..that's a difficult one. It would have to be the Pain & Inflammation lotion. It has helped so many people with severe pain from all over! From post surgery pain to pain associated with chemotherapy, fibromyalgia, MS, and many more. It makes me so happy I am able to provide a holistic alternative compared to chemical filled OTC medicines.
A close second would be the Heavy Metal & Chemical Detox blend. Toxins are everywhere - in our food, air, household and hygiene products. And a build up of heavy metals & chemicals can really impact your health both physically and mentally. The Detox blend is just an easy, all natural way to remove those toxins from your body. And they both smell amazing!
